I am probably boring everybody, but, I found a link that talks about what various stages are that are displayed in Texas, Alabama and Florida:

http://www76.pair.com/tjohnson/saturn.html

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

I agree, the Saturn displays always evoked sadness in me too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I really, really, really miss the "first unread post" function.

Speaking of whats inside, last night I ran across this link on the restoration of a Gemini capsule, fascinating reading:

http://www.collectspace.com/restoration/gemini6.html

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

To your first post -- Yes, I agree, seeing the Saturn V center was both my favorite and least favorite part of KSC. I liked looking at it because it's a beautiful machine, but ... it is damned depressing, all that we once accomplished, and then threw away...

To your second post ... Don't make me hurt you

There's currently a big restoration project being undertaken at JSC to refurbish the Saturn V and eventually put a roof over the entire structure to preserve it in the future. The Saturn V's come about as close to a modern wonder of the world as you can get, I hope that there is continued support to preserve these behemoths long into the future.
