Though I felt this story was worded rather unclearly, it is interesting.

SDC link to AP story

Forest Fire Leads to Ancient Meteorite Discovery
By Associated Press

posted: 15 July 2007
08:25 pm ET

"GRAND MARAIS, Minn. Yeah, the title was a bit of false advertising. I expected a story about where a forest was burned away, and with the forest gone, an ancient meteorite was found. That is way more interesting (albeit, it didn't happen), then this rather prosaic story, that because a fire kept a guy from looking in one place, he found something interesting in another place.

It is,I agree completely deapfreeze.

The mis wording is not that important, in relation to the actual findings.

Perhaps we will find out about the nature of the impacting body that created the
Sudbury Crater.

Fascinating stuff.

Thanks MeteorWayne.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world.
