According to Starsem the 1700th Soyuz mission was flown today. A Soyuz U lifted a Yantar reccon sattelite to orbit.<br /><br />Its actually only Starsem that says its number 1700, but then again, they are connected to Samara production centre, so if somebody cared to count, it must have been them<br /><br />Wonder if it ever reaches number 2000, that would be kinda cool. time for some fast math, 300 missions, on average of 15 a year that would mean that Soyuz has to fly for another 20 years at the current launch tempo. Seems possible but not likely with Kliper coming online in say 10 years and Progress being replaced by that time as well.
