The latest thinking regarding the moon's origin is that it was created early in the solar system's history when a planetesimal the size of Mars collided with the primordial Earth. Part of the material from this object was ejected into orbit around the Earth, then coalesced to become the moon. The rest merged with the mantle of the Earth and added to it's overall mass. So to answer your question, yes, it's possible that some portion of the Earth was ejected in the collision and later became a part of what is now the moon.
