IIRC, the blob was reddish.

Amityville Horror had some black goopy stuff guest starring in the porcelain goddess, but I don't know if it would rate a picture on the box.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

I don't know either, that's why i asked. I should have put a ?.

I am a fan of 80s horror films but there are several i do not know the name of as i wasn't even 10 years old, all i remember are some scenes or box covers.

One film i'd like to remember has this sort of zombie woman, in one scene she is in a hospital coming down a stairwell and she claws some guy, yeah she had giant claw nails.

Another film was about monsters that could only be killed with water.

Oh Sorry. I thought it was one of those 'guess the movie' threads and you would later give us the answer. So do any of....

The Blob
Amityville Horror
Mucus ate my baby
It Came From the Sewer
Mutant Sewer Rats Invade Earth
As Slime Goes By
Ghoulies
The Green Slime
.......ring any bells?

(The one about monsters being killed by water wasn't The Wizard of OZ by any chance?)

I think you are mixing Day of the Triffids with Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the pod people). Triffids did have a scene in lighthouse, but I dont remember how water affected them. music did paralyze them.

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell

you spoiler! Monolith Monsters is on my list of classics to watch, now you ruined it all. just kidding, I dont mind, they are mineral creatures anyway, so no surprise there. and in any case it was you who put a title on that buried movie memory, so I owe you there (ditto for Kronos, which I rented last year).

other movie memories floating in my mind (all creature features):

giant critters: octopus, mantis, scorpion, tarantula (all black & white)

some movie with 10+ feet long, bug-eyed, nasty centipede monsters which lived in the water. there is one "horrifying" scene in which one grabs a scuba diver by the neck with its mandibles, ew! (B & W)

a movie with evil half-snake people, cobras if I recall correctly (in color)

a very vague memory of some monsters that looked like turtle shells with a single tentacle or trunk coming out, thru which they sucked people's blood (or was it bones?) (in color)

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell

The Tenctonese did not like salt water either. Seems they could be tricked into drinking it . . .

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

ah, glad you caught this one ZeroGeezus, I also owe you for helping me recover some movie titles from my distant chilhood (Alone in the Dark and Quatermass and the Pit, both of which I have since rented as part of my media nostalgia archeology project). there was a forest scene in that movie, I recall one of the creatures falling on some poor victim from a tree. as for it being British, I watched it dubbed in spanish, but some vague memories of the characters' garments suggest you could be right. I will research further, thank you.

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell
