I have read alot on this forum about how NASA's budget is less than 1% of the total federal budget. the actual monetary value that you guys give is between 16 and 19 billion.

How does NASA's budget compare to all the other space agencies around the world, both percentage wise and monetarily?

Here's the list that Wikipedia has:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_space_agencies#Largest_space_agencies

There's quite a large difference between countries of the amount of bang you can get for your buck however, so the monetary value alone doesn't tell you much. Experience also plays a large part in the quality of an agency. Also note that a lot of European countries contribute both to their own country's space program as well as the ESA. I'm not sure what the values are as a percentage of their budgets though, so somebody else will have to answer that.

-----

http://mithridates.blogspot.com
