NEAR objects

NEAR objects coming from the direction of the Sun are often not spotted till they are very close or after they have passed.<br />Would an observatory on the Moon give a much longer warning period? <br /><br />"OOPS" will be mankind's last word

An observatory on the Moon would be free of atmospheric glare from the Sun, of course, so it would have the same advantage over ground-based observatories in that regard as does an orbital observatory, like the Hubble.
