Today's SOHO and STEREO images show signs of a fairly significant eruption brewing in the sun's southern hemisphere. The eruption can be seen most visibly IMO in the SOHO and STEREO Behind images. In SOHO 195A images, the 2:48 and 3:12 images from today's (16th) video show a flare in progress. In the STEREO behind images, notice the action that takes place beginning at about 2:56. This flare seems to be potentially large, and it could conceivably send material our way.

This particular flare looks to have been a two for one deal. The shock waves from the first CME seem to have triggered an event on the opposite side of the sun. The STEREO Ahead COR2 images seem to provide the best view of both events and the material ejections.
