Oct. 8 Delta 2 - WorldView 2
Launch window: 1838-1852 GMT (2:38-2:52 p.m. EDT)
Launch site: SLC-2W, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.

The United Launch Alliance Delta 2 rocket will deploy the WorldView 2 commercial Earth-imaging spacecraft into a Sun-synchronous orbit for the DigitalGlobe company. ULA will conduct this commercial launch for Boeing. The rocket will fly in the 7920 vehicle configuration.

Thank You, that was truly a fantastic launch!

You know, especially from a reliability standpoint, spacex has its work truly cut out to match the kind of record set by this 40 year old rocket design! With an over all failure rate of less than 1% and a current main engine failure rate of zero, it is no wonder that NASA uses this rocket (regardless of how much it costs or not) for almost all of its deep space probe launches (the only exception being those too large for this system, when NASA has to use the space shuttle)!

That is a record that those involved in the building and launching of this venerable system can well take great pride in!!
