The issue, as always, is that the main stance of these theories is not "Look, here's a new way to look at things, why don't you take a look," it's "Ha! You're an idiot if you don't immediately believe I am right and that you and every other scientist is wrong." They start out riduculing mainstream science and set the tone for all further discussions as one of tossing insults. I would be much more apt to take a look at a new theory if the scientist who put it forward isn't being compared to Galileo.

Big bang has actually fought hard for it's position. Steady State was hard to knock out after all. People didn't like the BB 50 years ago.<br /><br />as for the electric universe, the parts I've looked at really hard, are complete hogwash.
