Oh yes!
Yes, it is set up to be a direct sequel to the Arnie film of 1987.
When two friends asked me to go and see it with them earlier this week I said, as long as it’s not got an ‘Alien’ in sight. I have never forgiven Hollywood for those dreadful AVP films.
The film starts off with the main character who wakes up in mid free fall after being dumped out of a plane of some sort. Enter the other characters who find themselves in similar circumstances. They’re armed to the teeth, however the ammo doesn’t last long after their first encounter with a few nasty beasts. Lawrence Fishborne turns up as some sort of Ben Gunn (Treasure Island) Character, who killed one to many Predators and has gone half mad, anyway he doesn’t last too long which is just as well because he has piled on the pounds since the Matrix Trilogy.
Anyway, I did enjoy it, it had all the trimmings of the original film, Jungle, lots of blind shooting into trees and all that the original film gave us. I will definitely get on DVD to go with Predators 1 - 2
7/10 a good effort.
