Primordial comet dust to drop to Earth in January

Comets are thought to be the remnants of planet formation, made up of cosmic dust and ice. Comet collisions may have helped seed Earth with water, a prerequisite for life.<br /><br />Click here to see full story<br /><br />Are they saying that water could have come from other locations in space and got to earth via Comet bombardments? Hmmm, interesting... I guess that leaves a high possibility of the existance of life elsewhere.

We are quite sure most comets are mostly water, so some of Earth's water came from comets. Oxygen and hydrogen in the molecular cloud combined to make water. Earth likely got some of it's water from the molecular cloud instead of from comets. Likely most bodies in the universe below about 1000 degrees c have at least traces of water, and will eventually get more water from a comet hit. Neil
