I was so excited to read that article (press release?) earlier today! Two of my favorite space exploration startups getting together to get things done - that is what I like to see!

I think I will seriously faint if those to manage to get hooked up with Bigelow Aerospace. Those are the three that I am currently looking at to help deliver us into the real space age.

I does seeem to be a sensible move. Together, they will have not only more resources but also more market power. That will help them out a lot.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

hmmmm

I dunno, maybe its novel in the USA that a smallish LV will launch a single or multiple small to nano-satellites. But it certainly ain't a first.

The main reason why SpaceDec didn't launch was not because Boeing or LockMart was unwilling. But because the main payload operators didn't fancy a piggybag payload that could delay or endanger the whole flight.

Cluster launches are being flown from Russia for the same price or cheaper compared to the Falcon I. Kosmos 3M and Dnepr come to mind. So I wouldn't talk about making market, merely of increasing competition.
