" 'Orion' is the name of the CEV and the name for the entire project to put humans on the moon. So now we have names for the rockets (Ares I and Ares V) and the Project/CEV (Orion)."

Q: How many components or versions of the "Orion" CEV are there? The CEV will be used to transfer personnel to the ISS, which is NOT the lunar program. Also, won't there be unmanned cargo-lift versions and CEV's docked at the space station for return of personnel to Earth (in addition to Soyuz, etc.)? Since Orion is the overall project name for the LUNAR exploration PROGRAM, might there not be additional names for the various components of the vehicles? This brings up the possibility of "Regulus", Betalguese (sp?) and some other stars in the Orion constellation. Since final configurations haven't been determined or announced, I'd propose the term "Orion Nebula" for the whole thing...a nebula being a fuzzy, diffuse, not well-defined celestial object. At least until things get sorted out.

Ad Luna! Ad Ares! Ad Astra!
