Sorry for such a simple question but for the life of me I can not figure out how to post a picture. It keeps asking for a link??

You will need to upload your image to a website hosting service. Many are free. Just Google and pick one you like. When you do the upload it will give you the url links for this forum.

Sorry but I have no idea what that means. Have never encountered it before. I assume it's to keep viruses out? Anyway, can I do this through my google account?

Just for reference, here's what I do using imgur:

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder where the image I want to post is saved.
Navigate a web browser to https://www.imgur.com
Click on the New Post.
Where is shows Drop Images Here, click and hold on the image in Windows Explorer. Drag it to the Drop Images Here space on the web page
After you see the Upload Complete (above the new image), right-click on the image and select View Image.
Copy the address in the address bar of the browser and paste it into the Image Tool here in the forums.

You forgot the "Right-Click" and "View Image" to get the URL of just the image

Edit: There is as a purchased add-on for the forum software, but it doesn't appear to have been implemented.
