Recent Volanism on Mars

Seems Mars volcanoes were active a factor of at least 25 times more recently than previously though (c20My vs c500 My ago).<br /><br />Suggestion is that Mars is still active if only hydrothermally (geysers, hot springs), also "The existence of hydrothermal activity on the Red Planet today might make the existence of Martian life that little bit more plausible"<br /><br />This article is no hoax and seems to be based on an interview with Chicarro (not exactly but sort of the boss of all the PI's for the Mars Express mission)<br /><br />Memorable missions tend to have a theme, to me it looks like the Mars Express theme is 'Mars isn't dead'<br /><br />http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3535498.stm
