Hello Uplinkers! This is my first post here.

If I were to run on Pluto (.08G), my strides would be much longer, but I'd hang in mid-air for much longer, too. So would I tend to run faster than I do on Earth? More slowly? About the same?

my guess is the same, can run as fast as your legs will let you!....but then again, i don't know much

A sprint would be slower. Sprinting favors high gravity, because a short race requires fast acceleration, thus substantial ground contact.

A marathon would be faster. Fatigue would be much less of a factor if you didn't need to fight gravity as much.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I really, really, really miss the "first unread post" function.

You would accelerate slower, because you can't accelerate unless your feet are touching the ground. The more gravity, the more often your feet can touch the ground, and the more pushes you can get per second.

However, your maximum velocity might be higher, because it is so easy for you to coast in midair. In lower gravity, the air pressure is lower, so you will be virtually frictionless. Even your terminal velocity will be higher.

Whatever speed you're running at, the reduced G is going to make you look like the scenes where Steve Austin is redlining the ol' bionic legs.
Ergo, whatever speed you're going, everyone's going to assume it's really really fast.

Welcome to SDC Frosty

If your asking about top speed, then I’d say Pluto. You could certainly accelerate faster on earth, but this will take a lot of energy. You could start bounding forward on Pluto and with each jump add a little more energy until your moving very fast.
