The U.S. Northeast woke up to a "horribly smoky day" on Wednesday (June 7) as a low-pressure system funnels toxic smoke from wildfires in Canada across the Atlantic Coast.

Here in eastern Pennsylvania, The Sun at midday was redder than a considerably red sunset, and was barely visible. There were no stars last night, including Venus and Jupiter. No sky at all.

A nearby fire department was dispatched to a location where someone thought was a close by brush fire, turned out to be this smoke.
