Scientists detect world's coldest cloud hovering over Pacific Ocean

A severe thunderstorm cloud that formed over the Pacific Ocean in 2018 reached the coldest temperatures ever recorded.

That seems extra strange since above 11km temperatures soon begin to increase to about 0 deg. C. The temperature they claim would seem to require an altitude of 6x (~ 70km), well above the stratosphere. [From this graph.]

Perhaps the process in making vapor contributes to the cooling, thus keeping it closer to the 11km, or the instruments go funky at those temperatures.
