size of spaceports?

Does anyone have information on how much land is actually required for a modern (government) spaceport?  Specifically, do spaceports need to be larger than 9,000 hectares in order to properly function?  Thanks a lot for any help.

9000 hectares is enough for a mid size spaceport That leaves space for vendor's workshops assembly and a dozen launch pads. It leaves room for expansion and even some large scale construction, plus a sizable guard band to detect terrorists and protect the neighboring towns from crashes, explosions spills and most other kinds of mishaps.
