Space Battleship Yamato has a pretty big following in the US, amongst the various manga/whatsits fans. But, I doubt it would get a theatre release here. It might make it to a dubbed DVD. But, most certainly it'd make it to a subtitled version, IMO.

I'm glad Disney dropped their plans for it. From what I heard of their plans for it, they were going to butcher it anyway.

It probably won't happen, but I'd sure like it to come out in theaters in the U.S. It looks like it's theater-worthy. :mrgreen:

Still, I don't know how practical it would be to convert a 250-year old WWII-era battleship into a spaceship. :lol:

I thought that ship looked a lot like an old cartoon I once saw where the spaceships had likenesses of sea-going vessels. Not a bad cartoon, back in the day. Not really surprised someone is making a movie out of it. Wouldn't mind seeing an English release, not sure I'd pay to see it in a theatre.
