There is another thread around here where it was discussed what could happen to an augmented . . .

ah . . .

er . . .

um . . . .

you know,

boobie

in case the cabin had an explosive decompression. We figured the silicone vapor would kill everyone on board.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

In a vacuum a bag of silicon gel would just sit there like...well a bag of silicon gel! No reason anything dramatic would happen--well aside from the young lady surrounding it dying of asphyxiation. Everyone on this board should know by now that bodies don't explode in vacuum. Blood vessels near the surface may break (giving a bad case of spider veins) and eventually--after a few hours--there will be some puffing up but that's it. Its been tested. (Although if you are a bit gassy from lunch you'll have some hellatious farting and belching as the pressure drops!)

Another interesting scenario dashed by science.

Ursala Udders can breathe easier (so to speak) now.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

The Bigelow hotels will offer some wild fun, to be sure. Anyone got a link? 8)

We need a first generation of pioneers.

ISDC was the 25th International Space Development Conference, co-hosted by the National Space Society and The Planetary Society. It had over 1000 participants and dozens of lectures across the broad subject of "space". It ran May 4-7 in Los Angeles. I attended Thursday and Friday, and met Edawg there among a host of interesting people. There were enough attendees to split the con along several tracks: space science, propulsion, law, art, entrepreneurial, etc. Interesting note for policy types: one of Boeing's reps was in a bunch of the Entrepreneur lectures, they are definitely paying attention to alt.space now.

ISDC had a lot less of the in-fighting that other cons I've attended. RTM5 in 2004 almost made me give up on the community. This was much better, less attacking and more friendly banter. Lots of interesting projects and business in the works.

I have 20 or 30 pages of notes that I'll be typing in sometime. If there is actual interest in reading them, I'll prioritize it.

josh

We need a first generation of pioneers.

Was the 'surprise' related to 'debbies does the iss' or were you just responding to the last post? 8)
