ISDC was the 25th International Space Development Conference, co-hosted by the National Space Society and The Planetary Society. It had over 1000 participants and dozens of lectures across the broad subject of "space". It ran May 4-7 in Los Angeles. I attended Thursday and Friday, and met Edawg there among a host of interesting people. There were enough attendees to split the con along several tracks: space science, propulsion, law, art, entrepreneurial, etc. Interesting note for policy types: one of Boeing's reps was in a bunch of the Entrepreneur lectures, they are definitely paying attention to alt.space now.

ISDC had a lot less of the in-fighting that other cons I've attended. RTM5 in 2004 almost made me give up on the community. This was much better, less attacking and more friendly banter. Lots of interesting projects and business in the works.

I have 20 or 30 pages of notes that I'll be typing in sometime. If there is actual interest in reading them, I'll prioritize it.

josh

We need a first generation of pioneers.
