I didn't like "Enterprise" much when it first came out but I loyally kept watching it because a friend kept reminding me how uneven the first season of a new show can be. I continued to watch because it seemed to be improving a little each season. Then just as it started to get interesting, they pulled the plug. I agree with crazyeddie, it was too little, too late.

The theme song didn't offend me in any Star Trekkie type way, I just thought it sucked really bad! When I was in front of the TV waiting for the show to come on, I literally had my finger poised over the mute button so I could turn that stinker off the instant it came on. (And, man, I had to be fast! That thing blared out with very little warning and once I got those first few notes in my head, I was stuck with the song in my head for the rest of the evening. Aaarrgghh! I hated that thing!)

The makers of Star Trek have always felt the need to put at least one female per show in a body suit. Counselor Troi, 7 of 9, T'Pol. It's a ST tradition, neither here nor there, as far as I'm concerned.

For me the lower appeal of the series was due to the characters. As others have pointed out, the characters weren't that interesting to start with and they didn't start showing development until it was too late for the series. However, for me, the biggest flaw was the lack of chemistry between the characters. None of them seemed to mesh and/or collide as interestingly as the characters in the other series did.

Wow! I was amazed to read about others' experiences being a Nielson family. We just got done being one and all we had to do was record what we watched in a little booklet. /safety_wrapper>
