I live in Louisiana. Looking at the South night sky, there is a bright planet. At least, I'm assuming it's either Venus or Mars, not sure which. It's always noticable. It's the brightest object in the Southern sky now. What I'm asking about is just below and to the left of this object? I could swear it's pulsating a heck of a lot more than a star. It's got what it looks like red and white pulsating throbs to it. Very distinct. Bright. I haven't seen a star thats more pulsating. Does anyone know what it is?

I think the Planet is Jupiter and the Star might be Antares. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

I second that shuttle_guy. <br /><br />Hi Quazi,<br /><br />That is what I have been using to plan my ISS / STS-118 Endeavour observations.<br /><br />Very accurate too.<br /><br />You can set up a free login, by putting in your latitude & Longitude (if you know it) or <br />by putting in your Town / City if on the list.<br /><br />My home town, Ashford, Kent, UK was on the list, as it is a large town. <br /><br />You can have a personalised list. Mine includes Zhanjiang City, China,<br />where my wife comes from & I have Tenerife in the Canary Islands too, as that<br />is somewhere I have been on more than one occassion & very likely to return too. <br /><br />But Ashford, Kent, UK is my default location.<br /><br />A brilliant site. Kudos to Chris Peat.<br /><br />Andrew Brown. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080">"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world.
