Anyone here under the impression that the reason TOS was remastered is because of the Upcoming movie?<br /><br />

They've been on Sci-Fi Channel all week. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font color="#800080">"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring" - <strong>Chuck Palahniuk</strong>.</font> </div>

Star Trek the Original Series.<br /><br />They've re-mastered it. It's due out on Sept 16th. All the space scenes have been removed, as well as the Enterprise and replaced with CGI.<br /> <br />www.startrek.com<br /><br />for details<br />

I hope Paramount doesn't pull a George Lucas (i.e. pretend like the old footage doesn't exist). Enhancing effects is great and all, but the classic footage should still be available for nostalgia's sake. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

But nothing can replace that cheezy acting, especially the first few episodes.

I think its great we have all seen the original series cut and uncut. I always wished that some of the shots out side the ship where more involved and longer. I hope if it is tweeked the right way. The crew will finally finish its five year mission. I just hope they don't darken it up like voyager and ds9.
