Is this a trick question?<br /><br />Galileo is in a lot of books and he even wrote one called <i>"Sidereal Messenger"</i> about small telescope observations. (Of course the pope almost had him executed for reporting what he saw, but that's another story...)<br /><br />Galileo discovered the "Handles" (rings) of Saturn, the stars of the Milky Way, and the moons of Jupiter; and his telescope was a lot smaller than that!
