Just saw the previews of this, and it looked really intriguing. Its got a good premise (time travel), and some interesting use of special effects, along with a great cast (Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weiz). I'm going to see it, even if it'll be another Gattacca where its mostly ignored by the general public. Anyone else heard of this movie?

I've seen the trailers for it some time ago... looking forward to seeing it, but as with most time travel movies, I expect yet another let down. <br /><br />My favorite time travel movie is Primer. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <div> </div><br /><div><span style="color:#0000ff" class="Apple-style-span">"If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing." - Homer Simpson</span></div> </div>

Everything I've read and seen about it doesnt make Fountain out to be a time travel movie. Its just simply telling the events [in chronological] order of the story (albiet through long periods of time].

You're right... i just read a few reviews about it. I almost forgot it was an Aronofsky film. I mentioned that in a previous thread, but somehow slipped my mind. I retract my "letdown" statement above <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" />. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <div> </div><br /><div><span style="color:#0000ff" class="Apple-style-span">"If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing." - Homer Simpson</span></div> </div>

I'm worried. <br /><br />Aronofsky doesn't really have a SciFi background - PI notwithstanding - and this is his original script. Said Aronofsky, "...wanted to create a sci-fi film that went beyond technology and science. According to Aronofsky, "The interesting things are the ideas; the search for God, the search for meaning."

The idea is good, it will get people thinking at least. From what I see in the previews, I can't say I agree much with the message, but even though it's weird for me, it's a better move for most of the religious types.<br /><br />Maybe it'll make life extension more romantic, what with the star-crossed lovers take, sort of what is often done with reincarnation (Hawkman/Girl in DC) rather than the whole vampiric Mr. Burns look it has now.
