Well, what about everything else that we do not know, we do not even know what other things we do not know.

1. You know what you know. This is learned knowledge

I do agree but, Hasn't that exponent definitely changed within each 24 hour rotation of our world?
But then again,... simply because a new fact of sound science is newly learned and assimilated by a few, that new discovery is not necessarily disclosed immediately to the general public for obvious logical reasons.

In astronomy science alone the robotic probe sciences have added new data to the knowledge of humans in the past 24 hours.

And for every new discovery made numerous more questions arise as a result .

Bottom line is I do agree knowledge is an exponent of time.
If a species of beings develops the ability to traverse and explore their own solar system, then that species stands a better chance of dramatically increasing that exponent of survivability should something uncontrollably devastating happen to their own home world.

70 percent of novel proceeds www.trafford.com/06-1593 are donated to www.caringbridge.org

why is there so much suffering in the world when science could eliminate many of the problems.

It does not require many words to speak the truth. Chief Joseph

>[W]hy is there so much suffering in the world when science could eliminate many of the problems?
Interestingly I was having a similar discussion over the weekend. The problem isn't science, it is finding the political will to make the harsh decisions that need to be made. And the financing to implement them.
