Oh, I thought a saw Mars riding with the moon a few weeks ago, so I guess I don't know, because it depends on time. Venus is in the morning, I think, so maybe Jupiter, or Saturn, but I am guessing just to see if I am right.

A waxing crescent moon is within 16 degrees of angular separation of Venus. Venus is located southwest of the moon tonight. Venus is in a waning crescent phase. On January 13th 2006, we will very nearly have a new Venus phase. It will be hard to see.

I just bought some astro-binos and am having a ball with them. None of the headaches I had with the telescope, just point the darn things at what you want to look at, and voila! there it is. Much less vibration, too. Anyway, I looked at Venus and for the first time noticed it was in a crescent phase. My telescope never came in clear enough to notice that before. So, now I am eager to follow the phases of Venus along with Luna's.
It's all very cool stuff!!
