Interesting article. There are many DM candidates now, axions is an example. If the motion of galaxies, gas, and stars in spiral galaxies are not bound by gravity, there is no need for DM but BB cosmology and timescales are challenged by such an interpretation of motion (i.e. much of the matter in galaxies are not bound, thus dispersing and not completing multiple revolutions, DM is the glue to hold the stuff together vs. dispersing motion).
