The concept relates to a "false vacuum" in quantum field theory, where the Higgs field might not be in its absolute lowest energy state but rather trapped in a local minimum. If it were to transition to a true vacuum state, it could theoretically lead to catastrophic changes in the universe.
But note that it remains speculative and hypothetical. Current scientific understanding and evidence do not suggest that such an event is imminent or likely to occur anytime soon.

PS Just to cheer you up I read about this somewhere else. It said that at any time via Quantum tunnelling this could happen or may have happened already somewhere and is speeding to us at the speed of light. Ha Ha 25th December first please.
