Bigfoot is real - I saw him on the 6 Million Dollar Man!

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Hey, if an American patriot and stand-up guy like Oscar Goldman says there's a Bigfoot, that's good enough for me. Sorry SG!

And just which mission did Colonel Steve Austin fly on anyway? I can't find it anywhere on the NASA website ... I smell a conspiracy brewing.

Serious question now, which of the X-craft is it that they use in the opening title sequence? And, is the crash at the end the same craft, or was that a bit of Hollywood trickery?

Okay, going to look for my "Six Million Dollar Man" ice-cream bar stickers now. They HAVE to be worth something to a rabid sci-fi fan these days!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

As I recall it was the M2F2 lifting body

Jon

Whether we become a multi-planet species with unlimited horizons, or are forever confined to Earth will be decided in the twenty-first century amid the vast plains, rugged canyons and lofty mountains of Mars Arthur Clarke

The crash footage is of the M2-F2, piloted by Bruce Peterson May 10th 1967. He was badly injured and his test pilot career was over. The M2-F2 was rebuilt.

The footage of "Steve Austin" launching and flying was in the HL-10. The shape of the HL-10 formed the basis of The X-38 CRV that was going to be used on the Station. I was dissapointed when the program was cancelled. I expected it to be re-started after the loss of Columbia, but it was not to be.

And Boy: I hope the "Moon Hoax" garbage stays off this forum. A couple of years ago it got out of hand.

One Percent of Federal Funding For Space: America CAN Afford it!! LEO is a Prison -- It's time for a JAILBREAK!!

Okay.. now for double jeopardy....
Besides that footage of the M2-F2 accident... there is another connection between that accident and the genesis of The Six Million Dollar Man. What is it?

Bruce Peterson did lose his an eye (or at least the sight in that eye) like the character in the six million dollar man. Is that what you were looking for?

That same pilot, Bruce Peterson lost an eye in that accident. They duplicated that for Steve Austin. By the way, the date I put in my posting is wrong, it should read May 10th, 1967, NOT October. Sorry!!

One Percent of Federal Funding For Space: America CAN Afford it!! LEO is a Prison -- It's time for a JAILBREAK!!

IIRC, Martin Caiden, who wrote the novel 'Cyborg' upon which The Six Million Dollar Man is based, worked at Edwards. Supposedly he based the Steve Austin character largely on Bruce Peterson.

Caiden was one of those unusual writers that insiders I have read have stated almost always stated that he got his facts right.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher
