A comparison of the Face with its closest "next door neighbor," a mesa located just to the southeast (below, right). As can be seen, while the Face's eastern flank again is totally overexposed in the Odyssey view, the mesa right next door is barely lit! Yet, the source of illumination for both objects is exactly the same … the pre-dawn brightening several degrees above the Cydonia horizon.

Gee, I don't think I've ever seen those photos before, Zen.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

No, if all that land on the right side of the hills is really just blown over sand because of how windy it could have been in that area on mars that day and time does not make me assume that it's hiding half of a face even though there seems to be vague parts of an eye, nose and a mouth on the left. I really don't see how most of it is just blown over sand anyway and can't possibly believe it is.

Pareidolia: "..a type of illusion or misperception involving a vague or obscure stimulus being perceived as something clear and distinct. For example, in the discolorations of a burnt tortilla one sees the face of Jesus Christ. Or one sees the image of Mother Teresa or Ronald Reagan in a cinnamon bun or a man in the moon."

"There is an universal tendency among mankind to conceive all beings like themselves, and to transfer to every object, those qualities, with which they are familiarly acquainted, and of which they are intimately conscious. We find human faces in the moon, armies in the clouds; and by a natural propensity, if not corrected by experience and reflection, ascribe malice or good- will to every thing, that hurts or pleases us. ~David Hume

http://skepdic.com/pareidol.html

On the MGS image, I can see what look to be very straight lines. And if you really want to see an alien, just spin the MGS picture on it's head and you'll see what appears to be the true position that it should be viewed in. IMO, it looks like a picture, but I'm still pretty sure that it just a mountain covered under many feet of dust and dirt

Omniscient: You keep stating things like "Here's the truth" then posting photos of a chunk of rock. So you agree the mars face is a simple chunk of rock then. Good.

_______________________________________________
SpeedFreek
