Hi Andrew<br /><br />It is my understanding that the urellite diamonds are from collisons in space.<br /><br />With respect to Meteor Ctrater the bedrock is limestone. Lots of carbon there. The impacting body was an iron, so had no carbon.<br /><br />Nearly four megatonnes is a lot of energy. Clearly enough to generate transient pressures.
