I have two quick questions. Did anybody report a fireball/meteor over the east coast around 9 pm eastern on Halloween 2005. I was trying to do some Mars watching and I saw the brightest meteor of my life. I reported it to the Amereican Meteor Society.<br />Also, where can I find a good set of directions on operating a Meade reflector telescope. I have one about 5 inches in diameter, and I can barely see Mars as a disk, hardly any color. Am I doing something wrong or is that about what I should expect? Thank You.

I saw the fireball too - roughly 9:15 PM EST. It appeared to pass a bit east of me (Durham, NC) and was headed roughly north-northwest. Do you have a link to the American Meteor Society?
