Community,
During the last night time Shuttle launch there were viewing possibilities from the east coast of the US.
If memory serves, viewing from Richmond, Va was possible 2 minutes after launch about 10 degrees off the horizon in the SE sky. I see the current launch time is scheduled for 2:52 AM Dec 3rd.
Can anyone confirm the viewing possiblilites for this launch?
Thanks. Going to miss the Shuttle.

Would probably be similar. I live in central Florida and night time launches watched from Titusville are spectacular.

Yes, the early morning (2:47 AM) launch to the ISS will give the same opportunities to see it up the coast. First, let's wait until the news conference next Monday to see if the Dec 3 launch will go on as planned. :) The launch window only extends to the 6th (1:36 AM), or maybe the 8th (12:22 AM) with significant mission tradeoffs.
