Watch private Cygnus cargo spacecraft leave the ISS early July 12

Can't "crew" a Cygnus cargo ship, because they burn up in the atmosphere, rather than landing. "Crew" would surely be killed. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cygnus_(spacecraft) Better chance riding the Boeing Starliner down.

The logical "rescue" craft is a SpaceX Dragon capsule. But, now the FAA is "investigating" a rocket motor failure on the same launch vehicle's second stage. So, they might interfere with that.

And, there is always the Russians. But, I doubt the U.S. would ask the Russians to "rescue" us under the present geopolitical conditions.

certainly, I had forgotten that, all that is lost in a controlled re-entry
