Weird green glow spotted in atmosphere of Mars

Perhaps the peculiar properties of the Martian atmosphere augments the green color. From the surface of Mars, the normally yellow-orange sky seen around the Earth's sky at sunset appears blue on Mars. This is due to selective scattering where the large "air" molecules are just the right size causing red light to scatter away, versus blue light normally as in our atmosphere. So, the red portion of sunlight passing through the Martian atmosphere will scatter away favoring those green emissions.
