Aside from millions of miles, no breathable atmosphere, the need to take everything needed to survive, and on and on, it's a piece of cake. Right?

There are multiple discussions about this on the forum.

What challenges do you see?

The survival support system, and how to land on it is also a problem, and the way to Mars is likely to be disturbed by the gravity of other planets, which is the spacecraft and the technical challenges, we have launched satellites to Mars and landed on it, but it is not a satellite. a living person

It is definitely a more complex mission than many realize. Lots of talk, but not a lot of progress on actually doing it.

While it may happen, it won't happen anytime soon.

I do not see a compelling reason to put humans on Mars. There has been no worthwhile task identified in these discussions that would mandate the presence of humans. Machines can do anything a human can do, only better. Our first priority should be taking care of Earth. Spending limited resources to bail out versus cleaning our own nest makes no sense.

Agreed. Sending humans to die for monumental costs seems a poor decision.

Start with machines, including a mission to return physical samples from the surface.

Until that is "easy"/routine, sending people is pointless.

Regarding Earth, we definitely need to be better stewards of the one place we can survive. Focusing on facts and not polarized nonsense (anti- or pseudo-science) is self defeating to all life on the planet.
