I was woundering what ever happens to the already built or half-built hardware of a Nasa program that gets the axe. Like what happened to the X-33 or 34? Do they just keep them in a warehouse and pick them for parts, do they go to the contractors, go to suplus auction, etc?

Museums, canibalization, scrapping, lost - I've seen pretty much the spectrum in my experience.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Rumour has it that there's a giant warehouse in Houston where all of the old NASA projects are kept; right next to the Arc of the Covenant

You know this actually brings up a good point....

Back in the 'golden days' after a project is completed or canceled, one can still go back and dig out drawings and/or reports 10~20 years later. Now everything being on electrons, a click of mouse and all the data disappears
