What if china makes it first to Mars? (Manned)

I doubt that would happen since China has no experience with long-duration space flight, doesn't yet have a launch vehicle big enough and lacks the long-rance communications infrastructure necessary for such an expedition <b>but</b> if it were to develop that China was on the verge of making the voyage I suspect that the US and Russia would push quite heavily to make it an International mission. Ironically, I suspect that if China was to invite anybody to join the mission, it would most likely be the Europeans.

It worries me for the simple, selfish reason that if the Chinese are the only ones who go to Mars, then I myself will never be able to go. However I don't quite understand why if the Chinese go to Mars it suddenly means "Oops, space is closed." As I recall it's a rather large place. I'm sure there's room for more than one nation up there.

Huh? Why can't you go. No one can return to the Moon because the Americans went?<br /><br /> Mars isn't a landing spot but a large planet. Many, many times bigger in area than the United States. If you landed a helicopter in Nebraska, there's no room to land in Australia?
