I have 2 questions.
Firstly why is the Meade ETX 70 around the same price as a Meade DS2114 when the DS has a bigger aperture, or why the ETX125, which is only .5" bigger costs over twice as much. I've been trying to find the answer and have googled all over the place but havn't found an answer. Also for a first time goto scope which would be preferable?
And secondly is the DS2114 suitable for use with the Deep Sky Imager?
Thanks for clearing these things up.

Guys,

I have the DS-2114. Thank god I have enough passion for this hobby to continue. My recommendation is simply this: Stay away from Meade, and exspecially stay away from the toy scopes in the DS-2000 series. The Autostar controller is crap. The gear strip easily, and I agree you would be better with a pair of good binoculars. Save your money and go with a great dob.
