"... try to find out what happened to the old ones. "

Have you checked to see if there's a problem with the DSN? Or possibly Odyssey. It must be something common between the two to have lost telemetry on both simultaneously.

I unstickied them since we have three other, more active, missions going on at the moment - Deep Imact, Cassini and STS-114. They shouldn't have disappeared totally, since I posted to the tail of both of them.

They were here a minute ago. *confuzled*

Edit: Until the mods get an old sticked thread going I'll add past missions to this one.

MER missions

Opportunity (The dune buggy)
Spirit (The mountaineer)

Any more old threads that people would like links to add to the bottom of this thread and I'll edit this post again.

>could we please keep the rover threads stickied ?
As a compromise, I stickied this thread, so you have a link to the original threads. 1 sticky thread instead of two.

Using that logic, one should have a *single* thread that has links to all current missions (Voyager included) and unstick everything so that people can tell when a thread has been updated and can locate it if it falls off page 1.

Wow!

So many active missions all at once are log jamming SDC.

Way cool!

MESSENGER earth flyby coming up in a few weeks too.

More missions, more missions!

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

najab - As a compromise, I stickied this thread, so you have a link to the original threads. 1 sticky thread instead of two.

On an old forum I used to run, I'd have a thread with links to past stickies. That way, there'd always be a way to track down that elusive thread that got lost in the flotsam. Of course, it was only for important threads that could be used for referrences. Maybe a "Past Missions" thread with links to the "official" dead-stickies wouldn't be too much of a chore?

I put on my robe and wizard hat...

>Totally agree with this. Large difference in importance.

Let's see, we have two rovers continuing to explore an alien world... Nah, not very important.

P.S. No offense meant; it's just sad to me to see how much interest in the rovers seems to declined. There's still a lot going on on Mars.

ok, all you MER-haters ....
When we find water on Mars, you know what ? YOU ain't drinking any ...

Seriously, though, it was too early to unsticky those fine pieces of machinery.
They 're still alive you know.
Not to mention it could bring bad luck, and in this case we all know WHO would have to take the blame ...
{knocks on wood}
I feel better than James Brown.
