Where does JWST point to in the universe or is it constantly scanning lot's of directions. When I say direction, I guess there is no concept of N-E-S-W up in space. But it must point somewhere.
Thanks Bill.JWST cannot point within about 80° of the Sun due to heat concerns. It cannot point more than about 120° away from the Sun due to its mounting. It takes a whole year for the telescope to be able to cover the whole sky. The targets they look at are all over the place.
