World's largest telescope threatened by light pollution from renewable energy project

There does not appear to be a super compelling reason to build that facility there. But, in the longer term, important telescopes are going to be in space. Light pollution will get worse and the number of objects in orbit will continue to go up rapidly -- Starlink won't be the only mega-constellation.
 
Earth surface is a horrible place to put a telescope, haze, light pollution, water vapor, gravity. We need more space telescopes. I want to see a swarm of smaller mirrors serving as interferometers. A telescope of huge proportions could see great detail.
