Yoda? Who follows him to Dagobah?

In one of the books I have read, when he fled to Dagabah a Sith followed him. But they never tell who. I was hoping III would tell but they didn't. It was the presence of the darkside that masked Yoda so they couldn't find him. It was the Sith's ship that Luke goes into, not a cave and that is why the darkside was so strong in there.

One other thing, in the books most of the Jedi were supposedly killed while going to the outer rim to try to make a truce, a bomb was planted on the ship and it blew up. Maybe they just didn't show it? Maybe we'll have to wait for the DVD?

In the Starwars universe the movies are canon, the books are not. So if it happened differently in the movies, the books are "wrong".

Of course they aren't that irreconcilable from what you've described. Some/many jedi may very well have died in a bombing.

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Hi, this isn't really related to the subject but just want to enhance your point about Kevin J Anderson. He really is very s**t. I've read one of his books, 'hidden empire', and it was positively dismal.

OK, nevermind. I figured it out on the Starwars.com databank.

When Yoda was 700 years old, he served on a council of Jedi Masters instructing new students aboard the massive Jedi training vessel Chu'unthor. The starship crashed onto the planet of Dathomir. The Jedi Masters attempted to free the vessel from its swampy confines but they were repulsed by the Dathomirian Nightsisters.

Much of Yoda's history is unknown. Just prior to the dark times that accompanied the fall of the Republic, Yoda trained the Gannathan royal King Empatojayos Brand in the ways of the Force. Another student of his was the powerful and stern Qu Rahn.

Another tale of Yoda's past involves stopping a swath of destruction cut by Dark Jedi from Bpfassh. One of these dark siders had gotten as far as Dagobah, were Yoda bested him in direct confrontation. The Bpfasshi Jedi died, his dark Force absorbing into and twisting a nearby tree -- forming a dark side nexus. It is believed that Yoda chose Dagobah as his hiding place due to the dark side energies emanating from the tree. From a distance, Force-users like the Emperor would not detect Yoda since the master's bright light side presence would be canceled by the Bpfasshi dark side presence.

As for being canon or not, that is Star Trek, not Star Wars. From what I heard all the authors had to clear everything with Lucas first.

Of course the time line still doesn't make sense.

right, the writers were given pretty strict guidelines about the books. That doesn't mean things don't conflict occassionally.

Afterall, what happened to the mandalorians? I thought they were supposed to play a role in Eps I-III

Oh I don't know. I'm rather curious to see what "Old Metal-Mind" ends up doing also.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

They are mentioned in III. The Emporer makes a hint that he or his Master planted them in Shimi to create Anakin.

Shimi...anakin's mother.

I don't remember any mention of them planting anything to form anakin.

I also said mandalorians, not metaclorians (sp?)...you know, the group of people who are basically spartans, live for the glory of battle, that sorta thing.

I can't exactly remember what the deal was supposed to be with them, it's been awhile.

Saiph,

The Mandalorians were a warrior race that basically got its collective butt kicked by the Old Republic. Now the remnants are mainly mercenaries and bounty hunters. While the video games are the farthest from true of the things that passed accross Lucas's desk - They still got the OK from him and the Mandalorian story is told in the original Knights of the Old Republic Video Game.

a movie based on the original KOTOR would be sooo awesome =)

It would be a new sixology, episodes IV-VI being the original story in KOTOR, and then episode I-III being Exar Kun --Mandolorian War--Revan and Malak

I just got 2/3 of the way through KOTOR, god damned was that plot twist awesome, just as good as finding out Vader was Lukes father!

no... Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, it's set 4000 years before the movies, and its an RPG for PC/xbox. I just finished playing through the light side, and the game has an AWESOME story, just as good as the movies if not better.

Oh, I must have read that too quickly.

As for Anakin, watch III again and there is a part in it when Palpatine is talking with Anakin about the darkside and he hints at it.

Oh, and watch IV after watching the first 3 and you'll see that they actually did a good job with the story line about Luke's father.

just watched it again last night with my gf.

I didn't notice anything.

He talked about metaclorians creating life...and the guy named "darth plaigus" (sp?) having power over death through them...

But that's it.

Nothing about creating anakin.

I asked a friend of mine to refresh my memory on the mandalorians.

Yes, KOTOR is a newer source on what they're all about. But here's the general beef some people have based on the original novelisations: The clone wars was supposed to be between the mandalorians and the Jedi.

Now, I don't care that much, but I liked the mandalorians and the story lines associated with it (and used in KOTOR). I mean, I never really understood who the seperatists were...

In the opera scene when Sidious/palpatine is talking about Darth Plaigus, he mentions that Plaigus had figured out how to keep people from dying. He also mentions that Plaigus had figured out how to create life using only metaclorians. Well in Episode 1 Ankakins mom said that there was no father for Anakin, so you can extrapolate that Pliagus or even Sidious could have planted Anakin into his mother..
Don't let your sig line incite a gay thread ;>)
