Will we ever travel to zeta reticuli?

"ever" is a LONG time.

Barring some magical breakthrough in space travel, a trip to Zeta Retculi (39.1 LY) would require a generation ship. That means a ship, traveling though space for human generations. Humans are born, live, create the next generation of humans and then die.

This occurs for a multitude of generations before the ship arrives at Zeta Retculi and even if we get there, it may not be habitable for humans, so what's the point?
