What the .....

KITT is above Robbie ?!!!!?

And if KITT qualifies as a "robot" why doesn't Red Dwarf's ship computer (Holly) qualify ?

And no mention of Kryten ?

Danger Will Robinson, danger !

-----------------------------------------------------

Ask not what your Forum Software can do do on you,

Ask it to, please for the love of all that's Holy, STOP !

Good point. Even Dot Matrix belongs above Kitt

And Robby should be number 1.

I should point out that the appearence in the TZ episode was Robby's shell, but his head had been replaced, so it wasn't really Robby.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. one of the most ironic statements ever made:

O.J. Simpson was considered for the role of the Terminator, but the producers thought he might be "too nice" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer
/safety_wrapper>

And Robby should be number 1.

I should point out that the appearence in the TZ episode was Robby's shell, but his head had been replaced, so it wasn't really Robby

While the list lumps (I think) The Robot (Lost in Space) in with Robby, I'd disagree. The Robot is clearly derived from Robby but I'd have said they were 2 distinct entities. Robby walked, The Robot had treads. Robby even made a quest appearance in Lost in Space.

I say The Robot belongs on the list !!!!

-----------------------------------------------------

Ask not what your Forum Software can do do on you,

Ask it to, please for the love of all that's Holy, STOP !

I might have missed lumping Lost in Space's silly robot in with Robby.

But the original Forbidden Planet Robby was a far superior robot.

It was a long list. If they listed the two together, the list is worthless.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. I might have missed lumping Lost in Space's silly robot in with Robby.

Somehow I got that impression when I read the list. I don't get it upon re-reading so they just plain left The Robot off the list. I fully agree with your other 2 points.

-----------------------------------------------------

Ask not what your Forum Software can do do on you,

Ask it to, please for the love of all that's Holy, STOP !

Curious, the 'spider things' in the Lost In Space movie I would swear were described as organic in the directors commentary.

Glaring omissions:

Robot Spy, Johnny Quest

Rosie, The Jetsons

Mudd's androids, Star Trek the original series

Various mechanical men, Bugs Bunny cartoons

Questor, The Questor Tapes

GM robot at the 1939 World's Fair

Bender, Futurama

Tin Man, Wizard of Oz

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

No Daleks from DW???

I don't think the Daleks would count, since they're vehicles for creatures that look like little one-eyed squiggly, blobby, tentacly things.
Digressing just a bit, but I note in Scripture (the Bible at least) that God has no jurisdiction over time.

Why doesn't He get a 'do over' ??

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

I don't think anyone else has mentioned him but seeing as we are having a fairly liberal definition of the word robot how about Kryton.

Incidently I signed up Norman Lovett, Danny John Jules and Robert Llewlenin to my Myspace this week. Normans Touring but I missed his local show through work.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring.
