A 5th state of matter???????

what would happen if we applied the Bose-Einstein Condensate (possible 5th state of matter) what would it be good for, why would we use it?

in case you dont know what the bose-einstein condensate it, it was a theory from 1924 by Albert einstein and satyendra bose. The theory was that if you were to get low enough to absolute 0(20 billionths of a degree above absolute 0) then all the atom (ex: all hydrogens) would fuse together to form one super atom but it would contain the same chemical properties as before. Soon enough, if there were enough hydrogen atoms an atom would be visible to the human eye without a microscope.

Getting to and maintaining a millionth of one degree k is too costly for a bose-Einstein Condensate to have likely engineering applications, however we may learn important things about physic theory from them. Neil

what do you mean, there have been many scientists to do it. and it is 20 billionths of a degree celsius not K. but i want to know what kind of things it could be used for?

would it be possible to 'build' an object then one atom at a time and then shrink it buy reintroducing heat to it?

no because by heating it up will cause the super atom to fall apart again into single atoms.

C is the same as k with 273 degrees added. Many = ten, 100 perhaps, unless you count observers. I agree the large atom would fall apart quickly even at one degree k. Neil
